Benny and Björn appeared on The X Factor although not together.  Benny's appearance was filmed during the week before the Saturday semi-final which was attended by Björn. Young stars of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again were in the audience including Lily James, Jeremy Irvine and Hugh Skinner.

The show promotion quoted Benny as saying, “I am very happy to be hosting a masterclass and hear the last six contestants perform our songs. I am thrilled The X Factor is celebrating the MAMMA MIA! Film soundtracks.”  While Björn was quoted as saying, "I am looking forward to being at The X Factor studio on Saturday night and see how the contestants put their own spin on our songs just as Cher, Meryl Streep, Lily James and the rest of the cast did in the movies.”

Benny gave the six remaining contestants a 'masterclass' and made a few comments about their singing.  Björn joined the judges on the panel and passed some predicatably tactful comments about the performances.

The pre-show promotion had implied it was ABBA week but the contestants ended up just singing a medley of halves of ABBA songs after they had already performed one full song each for which they got an obligatory standing ovation from the judges including Björn.
