Waauw was a half-hour long music and mostly dance series which ran on channel KRO from 26 October 1964 to 28 July 1972 and consisted 40 Episodes.

The other guest on this episode was Karin Kent. The Hep Stars featuring Benny performed Sunny Girl. This TV show was produced on AMPEX but erased.

This clip originally featured on this music & dance programme (Pop op TV 1960-1975, p.128). It was supplied by OLGA Records from Sweden and filmed onto 16mm material from where it was edited into the aired production. That’s why luckily this is the only remaining material from this episode. The question is: does it originate from 1966 or was it made in 1968 to coincide with the Dutch chart entry?

We suspect that it was filmed in 1968 in Sweden especially for this TV show, because it is hard to imagine the group had a video clip, but it was not showed anywhere for 2 years, although the song itself was quite successfull. (Sunny Girl was a 2 year old song at that time as the single was released on 15 March 1966.)

The 192 TV rebroadcast confirms the year, but it is incorrectly labelled as July.

After showing this clip they were invited by channel KRO to come to Holland personally to appearing on Waauw and they made the Waauw - The Hep Stars Special.
