A Sitzprobe is a German word and means "seated rehearsal' and is a rehearsal event where the singers sing with the orchestra, focusing attention on integrating the two groups. It is often the first rehearsal where the orchestra and singers rehearse together.
Benny, Ludvig and Tim Rice attended the Sitzprobe for Chess on Broadway in New York in early October prior to the show's first previews on 15 October 2025 at The Imperial Theatre.
