Almedalsveckan = Almedalen Week (also known as Politician's Week)

Almedalsveckan 2025 was Sweden's annual political forum held from 23-27 June 2025, in Visby, Gotland, focusing on societal challenges and democratic dialogue. Organized by Region Gotland, the event brought together politicians, businesses, academia, and civil society for discussions on topics ranging from renewable fuels and climate-smart logistics to advanced biologics and the importance of space for security, as seen from events like the Aerospace Almedalen panel hosted by the Swedish Aerospace Industries (SAI).

It served as Sweden's leading democratic forum for open dialogue and societal development, where various sectors met to exchange ideas and address critical societal issues. 

Björn took part as a speaker together with Hanna Gerdes (chairwoman of the board of Civil Right Defenders) and Jan Scherman (democracy activist and filmmaker) on the opening day.

Björn's speech stated that democracy only lives as long as we are prepared to defend it, it dies the day we take it for granted.
