Zweden doen het anders = Swedes Do It Differently

This programme examined Sweden's unique, gentle coronavirus response, led by Thomas Erdbrink and Sander Schimmelpenninck. While the world went into lockdown, schools and restaurants remained open, based on trust in the government and personal responsibility. The goal was to minimize disruption to society and the economy.

Key aspects of the Swedish approach:

  1. Sweden opted for an unorthodox approach with less strict rules.
  2. The approach is based on a deep-rooted trust in the government and national character.
  3. Citizens took responsibility for themselves, instead of complying with strict government measures.
  4. Minimizing disruption to daily life and the economy was the central theme.

The documentary shows that, although the approach was controversial, Swedes stuck to their own course, which led to curiosity and discussion in other countries.

Björn shared his views on this subject to Thomas Erdbrink.
