En hyllning till svensk musik = A tribute to Swedish Music

The non-profit-making association “Svenska musikskattens hus” are the fund-raising foundation behind the Swedish Music Hall of Fame. A total of 39 musicians have been inducted since 2014 and they have been chosen by an expert jury chaired by Jan Gradvall (2014-2016) and Anna Charlotta Gunnarson (since 2016). The aim of the Swedish Music Hall of Fame is to highlight and increase knowledge of the history of Swedish popular music from the 1920s up until today. In order to be inducted into the Swedish Music Hall of Fame, musicians need to have released their first album at least 20 years ago, have added lasting contributions to Swedish music and have made a significant impact on the development of popular music in Sweden.

Benny was filmed in his office at Mono Music commenting on two recent inductees to the Swedish Music Hall of Fame - Lill-Babs and Calle Jularbo - as part of a special programme focussing on the inductees of 2017 and on the tribute ceremony held at Eric Ericsonhallen in Stockholm in March 2017, and has been produced for Swedish Television by the production company Mastroc.  Nanne Grönvall also passed comments about Lill-Babs.

The programme portrayed the eight musicians who were inducted into the Swedish Music Hall of Fame earlier this spring; Lill-Babs, Looptroop Rockers, Britt Lindeborg, Magnus Uggla, Calle Jularbo, The Cardigans, Merit Hemmingson and Ola Håkansson. Besides fresh interviews, the programme contained tributes and adaptations by artists such as Petra Marklund, Kikki Danielsson, Cleo, Loney Dear, Lena Willemark, Bengan Janson, Ola Salo and Icona Pop.

Sadly Lill-Babs died in April 2018.
