Låtarna som förändrade musiken = The songs that changed music
Benny appeared on an episode in this music series which focused on Swedish music (other programmes in the series focused on music from another region: Detroit, Los Angeles, Germany, Britain and New York).
The programme blurb: "For a long time, Sweden was only a peripheral corner of the music world as sweet music imported from Britain and the United States. But then something happened. The Swedish music miracle occurred and the Swedish song-writing and Swedish artists began to be exported. Josephine Forsman meets the band Entombed, which tells the story behind the song that became a trend-setter for one of rock's hardest genres - death metal. We visit Benny Andersson in his studio and hear how producer Michael B Tretow's sound technical innovation became the foundation of ABBA's success. And so we will know what it was that got the superstars to make pilgrimages to the legendary Cheiron studios in the 90s."
Benny was seen at the piano and mixing desk of his new studio in Stockholm playing with the backing track for Ring Ring and he separated out the parts demonstrating how this was the first ABBA song to experiment with the "wall of sound" technique. He described the lengths Michael B. Tretow went to to create such a sound. Pete Waterman contributed.
