A countdown of the 10 "most excellent things about Mamma Mia!" with interviews with Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Amanda Seyfried, Christine Baranski, Phyllida Lloyd, Catherine Johnson and Benny Andersson.
The countdown ran:
10. Who's her daddy?
9. Big love for Amanda Seyfried. Benny commented, "If I was still in the record business and had a company, I'd sign her because she's so special and she's so sensitive and she's great."
8. Everyone loves a little ABBA.
Benny commented, "I called the guys from the old band - everybody that played on the ABBA tracks. the actors came in and did their bit - fairly easily I must say. I was thinking like this was going to be like a work (like hard work?) but it was pure fun."
7. Meet Mamma Meryl!
Benny commented, "Meryl Streep is such a wonderful singer and she makes this her her own thing. I must say that they're all good but she's a miracle."
6. Three Men and a Lovely Lady.
Benny commented, "We've been lucky - all these guys wanted to do this movie. So we all knew before they were on that they actually could sing."
5. There's a Real Story Behind the Story.
Benny commented, "I was really protective about the work with ABBA because I feel proud of that. And I was a bit worried that if you want to do something else with it, what will it come out like? Finally, she came up with this script - can you imagine how difficult that would be? You can choose from 100 songs and you pick these songs and you say, well, now I have to write something to make this work. Well Catherine did that and it's incredible! From that moment I was not hesitant any more so I had to tell Judy Craymer that she was right!"
4. It ain't easy being a Dancing Queen ... or King
3. Location. Location. Location.
2. Sisters are Doing it For Themselves
Benny commented, "Judy Craymer, Catherine Johnson - also Phyllida of course. These three ladies has made this thing what it is. They're all brilliant."
