Additional information

Le gala de l'ONU = The United Nations Organisation Gala (Gala of UNO)

The Official Reception of the United Nations Organisation in aid of ICARA II (the second International Conference on Assistance to Refugees in Africa) hosted by Guy Lux, produced by FR3. The President of ICARA was the actor Richard Burton who said a few words.

It has long been believed that Frida sang " Have A Dream LIVE with a children's choir but she had already also performed I Know There's Something Going On (to playback) and was briefly interviewed as well.

Running order of 1st part:

  1. Richard Burton's opening words
  2. Angelo Branduardi - The racolta
  3. Tereza Kesovija - Lara and Hey! Là-haut
  4. Danish Royal ballet scene
  5. Daniel Gelin reads one his poems in French
  6. Ivry Gitlis plays on violin, Memphis Slim play on piano
  7. Frida - I Know There's Something Going On, interview, I Have a Dream (with children's choir)
  8. Sainte Marie - ?, Cripple Creek
  9. Enrico Macias - Deux ailes et trois plumes (with children's choir)
  10. Enrico Macias - ? (with children's choir)

2nd part (not aired in France):

  1. Miriam Makeba
  2. Mireille Mathieu
  3. Alexis Weissenberg plays one fugue of J.S. Bach
  4. Memphis Slim, Daniel Gélin, Stars of Faith of black Nativity-ensemble vocal,
  5. Liselotte Pulver
  6. final scene (all stars all together)

The broadcast of the 2nd part is a bit of mystery, as no broadcast information can be found either in France or Switzerland.  Perhaps it was aired as a different show under another name?  The ZDF broadcast contained performances from both parts, so it means the 2nd part also was taped. But the ZDF running time is only 1 hour and 15 minutes, so not enough for the entire show, which can takes approximately 2.5 hours.  If anyone has any information, it will be gratefully received.
