Although these two sources (source 1 and The Bastrop County Times - 9 November 1978, p.21 (listing the following week's TV guide) mentioned them as a guest on the Season 1 Episode 8, ABBA were to receive platinum discs recognizing sales of the albums Greatest Hits and ABBA - The Album in the US, but Dick Clark Productions confirmed (in January 2013) that, "ABBA never appeared on Dick Clark’s Live Wednesday. They might been booked to do the show or a press release might have gone out but they never performed on this show."
This appearance was CANCELLED because of the forthcoming Japanese tour.
