ABBA held a number of press conferences and interviews on this day - Monday 28 February 1977. It all kicked off at 11:30 and not finishing until 18:45.

This is a different press conference to the one featured in ABBA - The Movie as they all move about a bit before finding where they're supposed to be sitting!   In ABBA - The Movie  the line-up from left-righ is Björn, Agnetha, Frida and Benny but here it is Benny, Frida, Agnetha and Björn.

Three different channels (and therefore different camera angles for their own cameramen) are known:

1. ABC 
2. Nine Network
3. Seven Network. The Seven Network footage contains the well-known question and answer from ABBA - The Movie: "Are you clean?", "No, we're not clean, but do not take drugs."  Footage is available here.

The reporter (ABC's John McGregor) - his voice from this report is heard during the montage of audio reports over footage of ABBA socks and t-shirts in ABBA - The Movie, "The group's arrival in Australia has been accompanied by a blaze of publicity. According to the promoters, they're bigger than the Beatles and with an entourage 105 people, they're almost twice as big as the Rolling Stones concert. While they're here, they'll perform at 11 concerts in 10 days to an estimated to an estimated 140,00 people. ABBA are obvioulsy very big business and the organisers are treating them like royalty."
