Sylvester Tanz Party = Silvester Dance Party
The last day of the year, 31 December, is known by many different names throughout the world. In England it is known simply as "New Year's Eve" and in Scotland they call it "Hogmanay". Throughout much of central Europe however, it is known as "Silvester", in honour of Saint Silvester from the old Gregorian calendar. If the day is to honour Saint Silvester, why would the programme spell it "Sylvester" in the main title?
ABBA performed on this New Year's Eve programme recorded early in December 1975 but broadcast on 31 December 1975 just after midnight.
Wearing the blue satin suits for the very first time on TV, they performed I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do and SOS in an extremely lively manner! ABBA-The Book by Jean-Marie Potiez claimed that Mamma Mia and Waterloo were also performed - but this NOT the case.
Running order:
The ABBA clips were included in the programme ABBA Kultnacht on 2 November 2002 on ZDF, Germany.
