Songs of Europe (Momarkedet)

Location Mysen, Norway
Broadcast 1981 - Norway and a highlights programme was broadcast in the UK
What Momarkadet was the name of the largest charity event in Scandinavia, and was
organised annually by the Red Cross. This concert was just a part of the celebrations.

As it was the 25th anniversary of the Eurovision Song Contest, it was
decided that the concert should celebrate this and was called 'Songs of Europe'.  The guests were Eurovision Song Contest winners from 1956 to the present day (1981 of course!) and included: Sandie Shaw, Lulu, Dana, ABBA, Teach Inn, Brotherhood
of Man, Johnny Logan and 'current' champions Bucks Fizz.

ABBA did not appear in 1981 but the original clip from 1975 was shown instead.

The UK highlights programme was presented by Terry Wogan.
