| Notes | This was made for an Australian cartoon series which was canned before release, the same as "Money, Money, Money" The ABBA cartoon** was shown on Australian TV in a special called "ABBA in the USA". The show traced ABBA's rise to No.1 with "Dancing Queen" with their TV appearances on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert (including him introducing ABBA to the USA for the first ever time with the video of "Waterloo" ) & other shows (including "Ring Ring" from Tommy Cooper Show) and was shown on 23 July 1977 and ran for 60 minutes. The show was hosted by a different host for Queenslad, NSW/Victoria and South Australia/Western Australia so there are three different versions. The cartoon was a test for a possible ABBA cartoon show (like The Osmonds & The Jackson Five cartoon shows from the 70's) that was never picked up. Another theory is that
the two cartoons were not
meant to be part of a series per se, but just a collection of cartoon clips
available for distribution to childrens' magazine-type shows, much the same
way as the film-clips were available to pop shows. |
