Dancing Queen

Filmed 9th-11th March 1976
Location Channel 9 Studios, Artamon, Sydney, Australia
Broadcast August 1976 - "ABBA Down Under / ABBA In Australia" and as a PROMO clip later on the year.
Was broadcast on Top Of The Pops on 23 September and 7 October 1976 (and repeated on German channel Einsfestival in 2010 as repeated BBC episodes of "Top of the Pops") and also on "Bandstand" in Australia.
Released Parts of this clip of Dancing Queen has been released on an official DVD called "Rock Revolutions", a documentary "that explores how Rock & Roll
became the first true universal language and influenced the biggest social, political and lifestyle changes of the postwar era"
. Disc 1 is about the sixties while Disc 2 is about the Seventies.
Notes
Recorded during same filming schedule as Best of ABBA, Celebrity Squares and Mamma Mia for Bandstand.  This was recorded without an audience as it was not part of the Best of ABBA broadcast but recorded for later broadcast (ie. later in the year when Dancing Queen was released as a single).

"Top Of The Pops" licensed it from Channel 9.  This performance was apparently filmed "under strict security" because the song was not due to be released until August later the same year.

They appear to have alternated this clip with the official promo once the song dug its heels in at the number one slot.

As above, parts of this clip have been released officially on teh Rock Revolutions DVD.  The clip for Dancing Queen is used together with an item about the GLBT (gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender) movement. So you get to see parts of the Dancing Queen clip and clips of drag queens, (gay) disco's, gay pride walks etc.  The good thing is the quality of the 'Dancing Queen' clip is quite good so there's hope for an official full release on DVD one day. The 2DVD was originally released in 2005.
